Gethin Lynch


Gethin has always aspired to work with sports people and active populations having originally graduated from UWIC with a BSc Hons Sports Coaching degree. Following a period of soccer/athletics coaching in the USA Gethin graduated from Cardiff’s College of Medicine with a BSc Hons degree in Physiotherapy in 2005. He has worked predominantly in the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy and sports medicine. Having completed 8 happy years in the NHS reaching the post of Extended Scope Practitioner (ESP). He continued a similar role as Advanced Level Physiotherapist with Nuffield health. The post involved requesting imaging such as X-rays and MRI scans as well as managing joint and soft tissue injuries with injection therapy having gained a Masters level qualification from the University of Nottingham.

Gethin gained an MSc in Advanced Manipulative Physiotherapy with distinction from the University of Birmingham. His dissertation paper was completed in collaboration with the English Institute of Sport (EIS). Through his MSc Gethin gained membership to the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) having passed a clinical exam component in 2011.

Gethin has worked for many years in elite sport include roles in rugby with Newport Gwent Dragons and Wales U20s. He was recently part of the medical department at Bath Rugby as a Physiotherapist for the 2015/16 season. For the last 8 years Gethin has worked with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) with the mens intermediate squads.
